The night rating allows the pilot to fly at night under visual flight rules.

Requirements

The applicant must be the holder of a Private Pilot License

Training

Minimum flight time required

Some periodic flight briefings may be required. Neither a written examination or flight test is required. The night flight training time may be credited to the Commercial pilot course requirements. Instrument time acquired on Private pilot license is credited toward the Night Rating.
