PrivilegesThe Commercial Pilot License allows the holder to fly for hire or reward. RequirementsThe applicant must also be the holder of a Canadian Private Pilot License or the equivalent from a Contracting State. A valid category 1 medical from an approved Canadian examiner or if the applicant resides outside Canada, a medical examiner approved by the Member State. The applicant must be age 18 or older to hold a commercial pilot license. The applicant must also have a minimum of 200 hours in aeroplanes of which 100 must be pilot-in-command and 20 hours cross country experience. TrainingMinimum flight time required
In addition to a flight test, a Transport Canada written examination in Air Law, Navigation, Meteorology and General Airmanship must be written. 40 hours of classroom instruction is required along with periodic flight briefings. |
