PrivilegesThe Private Pilot License allows the holder to conduct international flights with passengers during daylight hours under visual flight rules. This is the license required if the pilot wishes to add an endorsement such as a night, instrument or multi-engine rating. This license is also required if the student wishes to pursue aviation as a career and obtain a commercial certificate. RequirementsMust be age 14 to solo, age 17 to hold a license. Requires a category 3 medical. TrainingMinimum flight time required
A Transport Canada examination in Air Law, Meteorology, Navigation and General Airmanship must be written. A Transport Canada flight test must also be completed. 40 hours of classroom instruction is required and periodic flight briefings may be necessary. |
