Privileges The Student Pilot Permit allows the student to fly solo within Canadian Airspace, under the supervision of an instructor during daylight hours in visual flight rules. RequirementsThe Radio Operators Certificate (Aeronautical) examination and the Transport Canada Pre-Solo Test of Air Regulations examination must be passed with a minimum score of 70% and 90% respectively. A category 4, 3, or 1 medical is required. Applicants must be age 14 or older to hold a Student Pilot Permit. TrainingTrainees often require between 15 and 20 hours of flight training.
